Urban sketching: Wakefield City Centre

Wed 21 January 2026, 1pm - 2:30pm

Wakefield Museum

Let's sketch! Wrap up warm and pop along for an afternoon of urban sketching.

We will start at Wakefield Museum and then head out around the city centre.

Urban sketching is nothing complicated. It's just people getting together to have a go at sketching what they can see, wherever they are.

Please note: there is no tuition in this session. But, there will be pencils, paper and lots of encouragement on hand.

For adults 18+

If you would like more information about the route in advance, please email us at museumslearning@wakefield.gov.uk

This event is part of the public programme for Wakefield Museum’s latest Special Exhibition, Cynthia Kenny: A city framed.

Cynthia Kenny (1929 – 2021) captured the changing landscape of Wakefield with her paintbrush and pen. Spend some time in Cynthia’s Wakefield to admire iconic views and discover hidden gems.
