Museum hubs - Wakefield Museums and Castles

Museum hubs

Our Museum Hubs are in the heart of our communities. Local groups and artists help us to create exciting displays.

South Elmsall Library Museum Hub

Enjoy changing displays rooted in South Elmsall, South Kirkby and Upton. So far, we've had everything from mining to dolphin training!

Our current display is 'Play days'.

Take a trip down memory lane with a peek inside the Wakefield Museums and Castles toy box.

Toys provide fun and entertainment. They help us to explore and understand the world around us. They spark our creativity and imaginations. And they often bring us comfort and companionship.

Lots of us treasure our childhood toys even as we grow up. For our latest display, we’ve chosen some beloved favourites from our toys and games collection. Which toys will you recognise? How have they changed over time?
