Sports at the Castle (SEND session)

Explore the past through play at Pontefract Castle! 

Try some of the sports, skills and pastimes that kept medieval people fit, fast and battle‑ready. Discover archery and falconry. There's also an early form of football and colf (yes colf! It's the foreunner of golf). 

Bring the Middle Ages to life through movement, creativity and role play.

This is an SEND session. SEND families are welcome at all of our sessions. We also run bookable SEND sessions for families preferring a more relaxed atmosphere with fewer people.

The activities are still free, but booking is required to manage numbers.

There are drop-in versions of this event Tuesday 18 to Friday 21 August, 11am to 3pm.
