Wakefield Museums and Castles

Join Ilbert the Dragon at Pontefract Castle for a fun afternoon of storytelling and hands-on play. 

Each month help Ilbert and his storyteller bring their books to life. There's music, props and actions.

Then you can get stuck in with activities, crafts, games and rhymes. 

These sessions are a great way to spend time together and discover new ways of learning with your child! 

Wednesday 7 January – Super stones: Join in with a session inspired by the castle's strong stones. Help Ilbert mix a special stone soup at storytime. Make your own sweet stone friend to take home.  

Wednesday 4 February – Fairytale February:  Fairytale castles and magical adventures! Jump into the story and join Ilbert for some fantastical activities and games. 

Wednesday 4 March – Dragon nests and eggs: Spring is the time when dragons build their nests and lay their eggs! Help Ilbert make cosy nests ready for spring. Make a bright dragon egg of your own.
