Friday 3 July , 10am to 12pm
Friday 3 July, 1pm to 3pm
This workshop is for home educated children aged 8+ and their families.
The Wakefield Museums and Castles collections comprises thousands of historic objects. This is far more than we can display in our museums at any one time. Our storage facility - Stores - is a huge warehouse where the artefacts not on display are kept and cared for.
In this workshop, we will:
Undertake a guided tour led by our Registrar Lindsey
Get hands-on with tasks performed by our Collections staff at Stores
Guess the identity of mysterious objects
Gain knowledge required for working in such a unique setting
If you would like more information about this workshop, please email museumslearning@wakefield.gov.uk
This session is delivered in partnership with the Community and Family Learning Team at Wakefield Council’s Adult Education Service.
Part of our Home Education workshops programme at Wakefield Museum and Pontefract Castle.
