This workshop is for home educated children aged 7+ and their families.

Delve into Pontefract Castle’s Norman past with us!

In this workshop, we will:

  • Explore the links between Pontefract Castle’s history and the Norman invasion

  • Learn about Ilbert de Lacy, the Norman knight who founded the castle

  • Discover what – or who – links Ilbert with the Bayeux Tapestry

  • Search for physical evidence of the Castle’s Norman roots
