Home Education: Local history through comics (7+)

Workshop times:

  • Friday 16 October, 10:30am to 12pm

  • Friday 16 October, 1:30pm to 3pm

This workshop is for home educated children aged 7+ and their families. 

Discover how comic books can be used as a medium to tell significant local history stories!

In this workshop, we will:

  • Explore comic books created by professional artists that tell the stories from the Wakefield District

  • Consider why comic books make a great vehicle for conveying information about the past

  • Start to create our own comic books inspired by stories from history

This session is delivered in partnership with the Community and Family Learning Team at Wakefield Council’s Adult Education Service.
